World's first OLED display with pins
ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY is the first manufacturer to develop an entire range of OLED displays with pins for simple plug-in installation. The high-contrast OLED displays are also characterized by their extremely flat design, robust construction and long service life.
These displays can be soldered in directly or plugged into socket strips. Cumbersome gluing or the design of a special mounting device are therefore a thing of the past, as are error-prone cable connections.
As the individual OLED pixels light up themselves, these displays do not require additional backlighting like LCDs. OLED displays can therefore be built very flat (typically 2.4 mm) and also boast wide viewing angles (up to 170°), high contrast (2,000:1), fast response times (typically 10 µs) and high overall brightness (100 cd/m2). These properties, together with an extended temperature range (-40 to +80 °C) and a long service life (at least 50,0000 h, up to 100,000 h are possible), make them particularly suitable for installation in mobile hand-held devices for robust outdoor use. The extremely good ratio between external dimensions and active display area helps in the design of very compact devices. In addition to the display in the standard colors yellow or white on black, special designs in green or red are also possible from a minimum quantity of 5000 units. The devices have both an SPI and an I2C interface for control.
