Capacitive touch panel (PCAP)
Touch panels are widely used nowadays, especially in the field of HMI.

Not all touch panels are the same: there are basically two different technologies: the capacitive touch panel and the resistive touch panel. A capacitive touch panel reacts to a change in charge through touch. This makes it possible to detect different touch points simultaneously. Two points of contact can be used, for example, to implement a zoom function or similar. Capacitive technology naturally presents major difficulties: A change in charge cannot take place if the operator is wearing gloves, holding a pen or even has very dry hands.
