Text and graphic displays with 3.3 V single supply operation
Chip on Glass Textdisplays und Grafikdisplays mit echtem 3,3 V single supply Betrieb
With the EA DOG series, ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY is launching a product family on the LCD market that is as compact and easy to control as possible. The simple control not only includes the variable connection of the host controller with 4-bit/8-bit parallel or serial via SPI, but also the power supply. ELECTRONIC ASSSEMBLY has gone to great lengths here and offers a genuine 3.3V single supply. This means that both the display controller can be operated with 3.3V as well as the optional backlight, which is available in many different colors. This 3.3V single supply is rounded off with a 5V supply option for text displays in the family. The 3.3V operation is so important because many microcontrollers work with this system voltage. Furthermore, in many handheld applications, the system voltage is set to 3.3V due to batteries/rechargeable batteries. This completely eliminates the problems and costs of level adjustment. Another advantage, especially for mobile applications, is the low power consumption at 3.3V single supply. The display only requires around 700 microamperes, the backlight between 10 and 150 milliamperes, depending on the size.Read more here...
