Lightguide ensures absolutely uniform display illumination
DISPLAY VISIONS is expanding its portfolio of display accessories with the EA LED55x46-PC series light guide plate, a particularly economical and powerful solution for backlighting the popular EA DOGM128-6 graphics display family. The new light guide elements enable high brightness with exceptionally good homogeneity. With their compact design and low system costs, they are ideal for industrial applications that require high optical quality on a limited budget.
The light guide plates have been specially developed for use with low-cost standard LED dies. Users can use LEDs in almost any colour - from white to yellow/green and RGB. Thanks to the optimised light guidance and the high transparency of the material, impressive brightness values can be achieved even with very inexpensive LED chips.
Up to 2000 cd/m² are possible for white light and up to 1500 cd/m² for RGB variants. This means that the modules are also suitable for bright industrial environments or applications with high contrast requirements.
A key development goal was to achieve completely homogeneous light distribution without hotspots or darker areas. The EA LED55x46-PC series achieves this thanks to a precisely coordinated light guide geometry, integrated diffuser foil and optimised LED positioning. The result is absolutely uniform backlighting across the entire surface - a decisive advantage for graphics-intensive displays.
The lightguides can be plugged directly onto the PCB, enabling tool-free installation. With a height of just 3 mm, they enable extremely compact display assemblies. Versions for three, four or six LED dies are available. Their high temperature resistance between -30°C and +70°C makes them ideal for demanding industrial, medical and outdoor applications.
