Compact 4x20 display for 1 U
WIf there isn’t much space available, in mobile devices or in control cabinet design, for instance, these displays are perfect: they offer 4 lines, each with 20 characters, and are extremely compact with outer dimensions of 75x27mm only.
The display modules from DISPLAY VISIONS are equipped with a high-contrast alphanumeric LCD Supertwist display including controller. The series standard LED backlight means that the text appears clear and perfectly readable.
The dot-matrix display is available in three versions. Users can choose between black script on a white background, white script on a blue background and a yellow/green presentation. Automatic temperature compensation ensures smooth operation at temperatures between -20°C and +70°C without having to adjust the contrast.
The display is controlled via an integrated controller RW1073 which is compatible with the widely used HD44780 to the greatest possible extent. The integrated character set has 240 letters, numbers and symbols; the user can also define eight of their own characters. The system is connected via a fast SPI. Alternatively, the display also offers a 4-bit and 8-bit data bus interface.
In production, the DIP205-4 is especially easy to use: mechanical assembly is not required, as the module is simply added to the PCB and soldered in place or inserted into a socket.
The display only requires a 3.3 V power supply. With a little modification, the display can also be supplied with 5 V. The LED lighting works with forward voltage of 4.2 V (yellow/green) or 3.2 V (blue/white and black/white) with 150 mA or 45 mA. The broad operating temperature range from -20°C to +70°C makes the display a perfect choice for applications in many industrial environments.
In addition to the 4x20 character display, other display versions are available in the same housing. For example, you may choose dot-matrix displays with 1x8 characters and 2x16 characters, and a fully graphic version with 122x32 pixels.
