Plug-in OLED displays for easy installation
DISPLAY VISIONS is the first supplier in the world to launch a series of OLED dis-plays equipped with pins for contacting purposes. The new displays are simply sol-dered into the circuit board without the need for error-prone plug connections. Sam-ple devices and small series can be made easily and inexpensively by plugging them into a suitable socket or on the breadboard.
The new OLED displays from DISPLAY VISIONS impress with numerous features. Firstly, there’s the huge contrast range of 1:2000 which is typical of OLEDs and en-sures a crisp display with excellent readability. The reading angle is also huge - at more than 170°, the displays can be read from almost any perspective. There is also the exceptionally wide variety of temperatures in which these displays can be oper-ated. These range from the arctic winter at minus 40°C to tropical environments at +80°C. And last but not least, there’s the extremely quick response time of 10 µs without afterglow. This fast response is also achieved at the lowest of temperatures. The longevity of these products is also remarkable: due to a new, patented form of OLED technology, their service life can reach up to 100,000 operating hours, de-pending on the ambient temperature. With this profile, the displays can also be used in tough industrial environments.
All the displays come with an integrated controller. They have the standard SPI and I2C interfaces for communication with the outside world. Versions with RS-232 or USB interfaces are also available. The pins for contacting the displays are arranged in the internationally standardised grid size of 2.54 mm. The display colour is a bright, brilliant white. Various versions are available between 1.7” (resolution of 102x64 pixels) and 5.5” (256x64 pixels). A test board with associated simulator soft-ware is also available for testing and development purposes.
