Ready-to-use display (remote): brilliant, bright and with touch panel. With free WYSIWYG tool "HMI Designer" to create your individual screen pages via drag and drop. Link the corresponding Modbus registers with the various objects on the display and automatically receive the correct data on display.

The display supports communication with over 20 different PLC models, including Siemens Logo! (TCP), S7-200, S7-1200/1500, S7-300/400, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi FX, Beckhoff, easyE4, Rockwell, Finder OPTA, Arduino, Schneider Electric Modicon, Teknic ClearCore and many more.

Freely definable register assignment

The Modbus display is configured as a slave. All Modbus registers can be freely assigned to texts, numbers, bar graphs, images, etc. Coil, discrete, input and holding are supported.

Even 32-bit float values can be elegantly transmitted for floating point calculations.

Texts can be stored as fixed texts or transmitted character by character.

Touch fields can be transmitted as "Discrete Input" or change a screen page directly.

Master or slave?

HMI units are usually integrated into a PLC system as slaves (or servers) (left).

If required, DISPLAY VISIONS’ HMIs can also completely replace the PLC and read out individual sensors directly. To do this, simply switch the display to master mode (or client mode); this not only makes the entire system significantly more streamlined but, above all, more cost-effective and easier to maintain. This is a particular advantage for small installations (right).

Wall mount or front panel?

The displays in the HMI series can be mounted on the wall or in a front panel/door.

The connections are located on the rear; the cables for supply voltage and data are plugged in here without tools.

We can take over the HMI design on request

You sketch out your idea of the individual screen pages, provide us with images, logos and the corresponding Modbus register addresses, and we take over the implementation in the display.

To begin with, if you like, we are able to create a small test application for you free of charge so that you can concentrate fully on your core competences. As soon as you have the complete specification, we will be happy to calculate the implementation.

FAQ - Questions and Answers About HMI Displays with Modbus

Questions and brief, easy-to-understand answers about HMI displays with Modbus

How does the integration of HMI displays with Modbus into PLC systems work?

The integration of HMI displays with Modbus into PLC systems is designed to be extremely user-friendly. With the free WYSIWYG tool "HMI Designer," custom screen pages can be created using drag-and-drop. The desired Modbus registers can be easily linked to the display elements, so that the data appears automatically on the screen. The HMI displays are configured as Modbus slaves by default, which allows for flexible mapping of Modbus registers. These features ensure quick and easy integration into existing systems.

Which PLC models are compatible with the HMI displays?

The HMI displays support communication with over 20 different PLC models. These include, among others, Siemens Logo! (TCP), S7-200, S7-1200/1500, S7-300/400, Allen Bradley, Mitsubishi FX, and Beckhoff. Models such as easyE4, Rockwell, Finder OPTA, Arduino, Schneider Electric Modicon, and Teknic ClearCore are also supported. This broad compatibility greatly simplifies integration into existing systems. As a result, the HMI displays can be used in a wide variety of applications.

What are the advantages of HMI displays with Modbus for remote monitoring?

HMI displays with Modbus offer significant advantages for remote plant monitoring. Thanks to support for Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU, the displays can be easily integrated into networks. This enables remote access to display data, which simplifies the remote monitoring and control of plants. In addition, touches on touch panels can be transmitted as "discrete inputs," which simplifies interaction with the system. These features make HMI displays an ideal solution for remote monitoring.

What mounting options are available for HMI displays with Modbus?

The HMI displays with Modbus offer flexible mounting options that can be adapted to different requirements. They can be mounted on a wall, in a front panel, or on a door. The connections are located on the back of the displays, allowing power and data cables to be plugged in without tools. This flexibility enables easy integration into existing systems. As a result, the HMI displays are versatile and adapt to users’ individual needs.

What display sizes are available for the HMI displays with Modbus?

For HMI displays with Modbus, a variety of display sizes are available to meet different requirements. Sizes range from 1.5 inches to 10.1 inches. This variety makes it possible to select the right display size for specific applications. The displays are available in both panel-mount and wall-mount configurations. This selection of sizes and mounting options makes the HMI displays a flexible solution for a variety of applications.

How can HMI displays with Modbus help improve cost efficiency?

HMI displays with Modbus can significantly contribute to cost efficiency in plants. The ability to completely replace the PLC with the HMI and to read sensor data directly makes the overall system more streamlined and cost-effective. Master mode allows the HMI display to function as a central control unit, which simplifies maintenance and reduces operating costs. These features make HMI displays particularly attractive for smaller plants, as they offer a cost-effective solution.

Why is DISPLAY VISIONS the best choice for HMI displays with Modbus?
