Up to now, colour TFT displays could normally only be operated with a PC-type system or a high-performance microcontroller and lots of additional hardware and software. Use with small systems (e.g. with RS232) or in small series was not an option. All this has changed with the EA eDIPTFT43-A from ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY. This unique TFT display for microcontrollers with RS232 interface and touch panel is a plug & play device ready for use. It allows for easy and cost-effective integration of a TFT display in a microcontroller system. All that is required is a +5V (max. 180mA) connection. The TFT display features 3 different interfaces (RS232, I˛C and SPI) and comes with a wide range of integrated character sets and powerful graphic functions.

Images with a colour depth of up to 65, 536 (JPEG, BMP and GIF including animation) can be stored in the internal flash data memory. Equipped with a touch panel with touch controller, this TFT display becomes a highly versatile and powerful control unit. Touch buttons, various language options and even company logos can be implemented with minimum effort. Thanks to the choice of character sets (including Cyrillic, Hebrew, Arabic, etc.), it can be configured to cater for an international market. All these options are available with a small 8-bit or even 4-bit microcontroller! Interfaced by RS232.
